Therapeutic treatments begin with a consultation and assessment. The therapist will develop a treatment protocol that is discussed in detail with the client. Therapists will be able to utilize different tools and treatments in their practice to beset help you achieve your goals.

Clients will be educated in exercise and posture control. Stretches done at home will enhance the progress made in the treatment room.

It is the combined effort for the therapist and client that will produce the best outcome.

Therapeutic Massage Treatment

Your therapist will prepare a side lying set up for your comfort and safety before your appointment. This treatment will address the different pains and discomforts you may encounter with your pregnancy as well as other unrelated musculoskeletal dysfunctions.

Pregnancy Massage

Cupping involves the use of silicon suction cups to lift the tissue up to stretch &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp; separate the layers of superficial fascia. 

There are numerous benefits to cupping such as increasing circulation, stretching soft tissues, separating adhesions, increasing fluid movement between joints, stimulating digestive movements, and more. 

The cups do cause markings on the skin which will fade within a week. Cupping marks are caused by the release of dead static blood, lymph, cellular debris, pathogens and toxins being released to the superficial tissue. They are not painful and can range from no mark to a deep purple.

Myofascial Cupping Treatment

Complex Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is the most effective treatment for chronic extremity lymphedema. Primary lymphedema (congenital) and secondary lymphedema (due to a damaged lymphatic system) respond extremely well to this gentle, non-invasive and highly-effective therapy. CDT is comprised of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), Compression Therapy, Exercises and Skin Care. 

In order to Book a full CDT appointment, we must first do a consultation to rule out any other conditions and tailor a plan to your needs.

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)
MLD is a very gentle manual treatment which improves the function of the lymphatic system throughout the body. In lymphedema therapy, MLD is used to re-route lymph flow around blocked areas and into healthy lymph vessels which drain into the venous circulation. MLD is also an effective treatment for post-surgical swelling, post-traumatic edema (as with sports injuries), migraine headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other conditions involving edema.

Compression Therapy
Compression therapy increases tissue pressure and improves the efficiency of the muscle and joint pump. Multi-layered compression bandages are applied between MLD treatments to help prevent re-accumulation of evacuated fluid. Once the patient’s limb is sufficiently decongested through repeated treatments, they can be fit with compression garments.

Exercises
Exercises are performed with compression bandages in place to activate the muscle and joint pumps of the affected extremity. This results in an increase in lymphokinetic activity and further reduction of the swollen limb over time.

Skin Care
Skin care and general hygiene are essential to eliminate bacterial and fungal growth which can cause repeated attacks of cellulitis or erysipelas. Infections are very common complications of lymphedema so meticulous skin and nail care is a vital component of treatment. 

Complex Decongestive Therapy

MLD is a gentle manual treatment which improves the function of the lymphatic system throughout the body. MLD is also an effective treatment for post-surgical swelling, post-traumatic edema (as with sports injuries), migraine headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other conditions involving edema.

For lymphedema patients, MLD is only 1 out of 4 parts of the treatment and is not intended to treat the chronic swelling by its self. Please book a CDT consultation if you are dealing with chronic swelling or major conditions causing swelling into your limbs.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Breast massage uses gentle massage techniques directly on the breast tissue to promote lymphatic flow and scar tissue work to relieve pains &amp;amp;amp;amp; discomforts that are associated with larger breast tissue, breast cancer treatments, reconstruction to the tissue, premenstrual congestion, and pregnancy. 

The breast treatment itself is only 5-10 mins and can be added to a regular massage treatment.
Written and verbal consent is require with each treatment.
